Assessment Services for Mature Adults

While there is currently no cure for dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, an early diagnosis can mean more effective treatment that can help slow the progression of these conditions.

Who this program treats

The Mature Adult Assessment Program evaluates adults age 65 and older for dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. This program is designed for adults who appear to be experiencing cognitive problems, memory loss or new onset mental health problems.

Services this program offers

The following services are offered through the Mature Adult Assessment Program:

  • Geriatric Psychiatry Evaluation – This includes a one to one and a half hour evaluation by a physician who specializes in geriatric psychiatry. The family or caretakers are given a report of the findings and recommendations following the evaluation.
  • Medication Management (as needed) – If medication is indicated to treat the patient, the psychiatrist will provide follow up appointments to monitor the effectiveness of the medication.

Follow up appointments for medication management can be provided, as well as support and education for the family.

Getting started
